Writing about DAM in other places

When I started writing this Substack, it was one way for me to communicate the DAM industry's common highs and lows, shared in a way that newbies and seasoned pros alike could feel included. Seems like this has resonated beyond here and now I’m lucky enough to share my thoughts more broadly. So if you are thinking of starting a Substack, just do it - you may open some doors you never expected.
One venue was - unsurprisingly, but happily - where I work. Thoughtworks is a wonderful place for people like me who can balance being self-motivated with working with some of the smartest people in technology. I paired with Brigitte Britten-Kelly to write about how we partnered with Adobe to deliver global digital content at scale.
Also this week I was asked to author a peer-reviewed paper for the Journal of Digital Media Management on the talk I gave this Spring on how DAM can be a strong ally of your brand strategy at the Henry Stewart DAM LA 2023 conference. I will have more news on that closer to publication, but I’m already looking forward to distilling what I have learned from the reactions to my talk along with what I presented.
I am growing more comfortable with writing overall - from newsletters, guides, and decks at work, to posts here, to maybe even a book in the future. Hopefully, my words will continue to help others feel understood and supported as their audience grows.
