Happy Mardi Gras! Masks are fun in parades; not as much when people are using Generative AI to impersonate people.
You’ve seen the phony Taylor Swift photos; heard candidates’ voices saying things they didn’t; and wondered if news can be trusted as lies travel faster than truth with the visual “proof” to back it up. It’s an election year in the US so get ready for plenty more misinformation and disinformation in the upcoming months.
When it comes to our DAMs, one of their core values is their function as the single source of truth. Sometimes aspirational, the goal is to ensure the approved, correct, searchable assets are available to the right people at the right time. With the explosion of Generative AI tools that allow us to create images of events that never happened, it’s never been more vital we discuss how to combat “fake news” in usage that varies in impact from global conflicts to our brand strategy.
Clearly, I’m passionate about this topic! Good news: I’ll be part of a panel at #DAMLA next month to discuss it with moderator John Horodyski and panelist Jennifer White. We hope you can join us and bring some (honest) questions.
Future Forward DAM: Dealing with Mis-Disinformation in the Generative AI Era
I am very pleased to be joining Henry Stewart’s #DAMLA as a speaker once again. I’m taking part in a panel that will tackle the issues of misinformation and disinformation through the standpoints of transparency, metadata, governance, information integrity, and AI and examine potential solutions – for application in the present and in the future.
All the details can be found here, hope you can join me on March 19-20! Use code SPEAKER100 to join me for $100 less: https://www.henrystewartconferences.com/events/dam-la-2024/session/dam-holistic
