Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Secondhand Sunday and Cyber Monday are behind us. I hope you are loved, full, and made a dent in your holiday shopping. Now let’s give back, it’s Giving Tuesday.
I’ve never been one for purity politics, yet when it comes to donations, I think we all want to find organizations where the impact of our giving is felt by those receiving it, not the organizations themselves. Charity Navigator is a great resource to yet the spending and background of organizations before giving. Their guide for giving to help those in the Israel-Hamas conflict has many options that have been vetted.
The site has many other ways to give, especially for those with more time than cash to donate this season. Maybe you were caught up in the DAM world layoffs too. Their volunteer listings are a good start to find local places to volunteer all year long.
I’m not Methodist, but agree with their take on giving - we can’t do it all, certainly not alone, so we should focus on doing what we can and giving that. Cheering you all on in however you choose to give this Tuesday. Back with more DAM content next week.
