As Thanksgiving approaches, I'm filled with gratitude and looking forward to spending time with loved ones, indulging in delicious food, and catching up on some much-needed rest. While the recent layoff was an unexpected setback, I'm grateful for the opportunity to use this time to upskill and prepare for new opportunities. I've been diligently learning new tools and connecting with talented individuals working on innovative DAM platforms.
Looking back on the year, I'm incredibly thankful for the new experiences that have come my way. I'm excited to start a new role next week, where I'll have the chance to learn from an experienced team (including some former colleagues I can’t wait to see!) and contribute to meaningful projects. Earlier this year, I was honored to speak at a conference for the first time last Spring, and later participated in a panel discussion on the future of DAM this Fall. Additionally, my first peer-reviewed article is set to be published soon, and I've gained valuable insights from the peer-review process.
A big first: I also launched my first marketing consultancy, Spark Focus. Along with those family & friends I’ll be eating turkey with this Thursday, I couldn’t have done it without the support of The Jane Club. Beyond providing a digital co-working space, The Jane Club community has been an invaluable partner throughout the year, offering guidance, resources, and a supportive environment for brainstorming.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the Janes and I asked the question "What are you thankful for in tech this year?" and shared our picks on the Spark Focus Substack. I invite you to check it out and subscribe for future collaborations. If you're interested in joining The Jane Workday, please visit the options here and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
