I went to a screening of When Harry Met Sally last night at the United Palace Theater up in Washington Heights. Marc Shaiman interviewed Billy Crystal before the movie and it was funny, warm, and pretty special. And yet as they discussed working on the moving together, the trope of “NYC as a character” rang out through their stories about filming in Katz’s Deli for THAT SCENE and the passage of time since then.
Some of my favorite scenes took place during Autumn in New York - walking through Central Park with the orange leaves against blue skies and grey buildings.
Lucky for us I also was reminded yesterday that I’ll be speaking at the Henry Stewart DAM NY conference this fall. The conference site is updated, has super early bird pricing through 6/3, and even has my speaker page. The description of the talk will be added soon, but I’ll share it here first.
DAM as a Brand Ambassador – How Digital Asset Management can be a Strong Ally of Your Brand Strategy
Picture an ambassador, in the old-fashioned, diplomatic sense of the word. Do they remind you of your DAM?
How can the DAM be used effectively when a client, company, or product is either launching or revising its brand? Can the DAM use its status as the single source of truth to empower your brand? And how can your DAM be put to work on a global scale?
In this session, we’ll hear from Kristin Burns, Global Digital Content Operations Lead at Thoughtworks, a leading global technology consultancy that integrates strategy, design, and software engineering to enable enterprises and technology disruptors across the globe to thrive as modern digital businesses, who’ll highlight, through real-world examples, how your DAM is a brand ambassador. Kristin will show how the DAM can smooth over change management friction by making it easier for designers, external partners, and the rest of your users to make the right choices from only the curated assets shared from your brand-driven DAM and focussing on common goals.
Hope to see you here in New York City at the best time of year here. And if you get cold when it hits 71 degrees like Sally, bring a chunky sweater.
